Maximizing your advisement resources
In the psychology department, our goal is to teach students to take responsibility for their own education. We give you the tools and information you need to make smart decisions about your educational journey at UD.
Here's how to make the most of your advising resources:
- Make use of the extensive information on this website, available 24/7
- Attend our group advising sessions once or twice a semester about advance registration, careers in psychology, and graduate school.
- Check (or have forwarded) your @udel.edu email for notices regarding group advising sessions.
- Consult with one of the three types of advisors available, faculty, the graduate TA for advising, and peer advisors (Click on the "advisors" link at the left).
- Complete the brief, informative psychology advising tutorial. After you complete the tutorial, you will be assigned to an advisor.
- Come prepared to your advisement consultations. Get the answers to your basic questions here, so you can spend your advising session discussing details of your own situation. When you have a question, you should follow these basic steps:
- Review the material available on these web pages (our goal is to answer most of your questions about the psychology curriculum right here)
The Course Planning section of this website will be one of the most useful resources for you.
- Print out, your Degree Progress report from UDSIS to bring with you to your advising session.

Peer advisors hold office hours in Wolf 202 to teach students where to find answers to their questions, how to register, and go over basic curriculum questions. Click on "Advisors" to the left to find out what their office hours are.
