Course planningTransfering courses & AP creditsTransfer studentsIf you are admitted to UD as a transfer student from another university, the admissions office will have helped you transfer your courses. If you need to have a Psychology course re-evaluated (because it came in as 166 "Special Problem,") then you will need to see the University Transfer Credit Center in the Student Services Building. They will get you started. At some point in the process, you will be emailing the official course description of the course (usually found in your original institution's catalog) to Dr. Morling. AP Credit for PSYC100You will get credit for taking PSYC100 if you get a 4 or 5 on the AP Psychology test. Taking a course at another schoolIf you are planning to take a course at another university (such as a summer course at a college close to home) you should get the course approved ahead of time. 1. Start by visiting this website to see if your course is already approved: 2. If your course is not on that list, then visit the University Transfer Credit Center in the Student Services Building. They will make sure the school is accredited and see if the course is transferable. 3. If you have already taken the psychology course, and you would like to transfer it, you should follow these same steps. However, without prior approval we can't guarantee that your course will be accepted for psychology course credit.
You can read the University's policy on transfer credits from the University catalog. You may email transfercredits@udel.edu for further information. Completing your UD degree at another institutionThe University of Delaware accepts credits from regionally accredited institutions in which the students received a grade of "C" or better in college-level courses (not remedial). Pass/Fail grades are not accepted. To receive a University of Delaware degree, admitted students must complete a minimum of the first 90, or 30 of the last 36 credits, full- or part-time, at the University of Delaware. |
